A sparkling white gown
she wore to the dance to
find her prince charming
without passing the chance.
She wanted to see him
before she'd depart, to fill
in the pieces missing from
her heart.
As she arrived and pushed
through the door that led to
the gold glittering ballroom
floor, she thought of the
man she was going to see; the
one in her dreams, the one
meant to be.
She sat in a chair next
to a young girl whose bracelet
and necklace were made only
of pearl. Soon after, the young
girl rose to a man who held out
his strong golden ringed hand.
The young man then looked
down into a beautiful face,
whose hair wasn't ringlets but
rather silky as lace. Slowly
he let the girl's hand fall free
and took that of another, the
one meant to be.
She knew it was him, it just
had to be. He clutched her hand
tightly and said, "Please dance
with me?" She rose to him gently
and beamed at his face. The
music began playing and hearts
started to race.
The orchestra played a
romantic song. She had been
waiting for this for ever
so long. Then all of the dancers
disappeared out of sight and the
only lights left were the stars
in the night.
They danced for hours
until a light appeared in
the air. She felt herself cry,
she felt sadness and despair.
Slowly she rose to the light in
the sky; she looked down at him
and began to cry.
"I love you my Prince....
please remember me...and please
don't despair.... we were meant
to be and we will be.....
sometime..somewhere."
