As the miles stretch between us,
holding us apart, and as distance
tries to sneak shadows of doubt
into your heart;

As memories of "us" get lost with
each passing day and threaten
to slowly fade until they simply
slip away;

As your mind begins to question
the emotions that you feel, and
your soul demands to know if the
love we share is real;

Turn your eyes to heaven and
remember our whispered prayer,
that God will guard our love
and keep it safely in his care.

Then faithfully grasp His hand
as if it were my own, and trust
that within His grasp you will
not be left alone.

For if we cling to Jesus,
surely we will find, the gap
that looms between us is merely
a state of mind.

The true measure of distance
is found only in the heart,
and through the love of God,
we are never far apart.
